Alef's Quaint Cabin in the Meadow

**Fireplace is currently non-operational, we are working hard to replace it soon. Lodging at this 'Old Tahoe' charmer includes a large and comfortable kitchen, dining room and living room with a grand rock wood-burning fireplace. There is a large bedroom downstairs with a queen-sized bed and an attached half bathroom. At the top of the stairs is an open seating area with a futon bed and a cozy electric heater for winter or cold summer nights. This is an old cabin. The stairs are steep; you must use the handrail, and head clearance is low. The other two bedrooms are upstairs. The first guest bedroom is bright and airy with skylights in the ceiling; you can lay in the Double bed and look up at the Tahoe night ski. The third bedroom is a nice size with two twin-sized beds. The front entry is covered.There is a spacious well-maintained yard that is fully fenced and is connected to a nice sunny deck for relaxing and entertaining. The driveway is long so there is plenty of parking. Bring your well-mannered pet along, too(1 pet is welcome; additional pets must be approved by management, 2 max.). There is cable TV and Wifi, a washer/dryer. 2 cars maximum. Just minutes from Tahoe City, enjoy shopping, dining or the grocery store for your trip essentials. It is a short walk to several public beaches or pick up the nearby local bike trail. There is a meadow nearby and many trail systems to enjoy the outdoors. For our boating guests, this Lake Forest vacation rental cabin is close to a public boat launch near the Coast Guard station, and for winter activities, you are centrally located for a short drive to Squaw Valley, Alpine Meadows, Homewood, Tahoe Nordic Center, and so much more.

All of our rentals come with fully equipped kitchens; most kitchens do not have pantry items due to wildlife concerns. We provide all linens and towels; most units also have beach towels. There is a washer and dryer in every rental. Every unit has Wi-Fi. There is NO A/C, this is not commonly found in Tahoe, there are fans. Deck and BBQ may not be available during winter months.

  Cute, cozy mountain cabin.
  Enjoyed the back deck having coffee in the a.m. and glass of wine in the evening. Our pups enjoyed the large backyard. Property was easy to find and close to town.
  Misses; cabin overall could use some T.L.C.
  The shower did not train properly and could use a good cleaning.
  Kitchen had ample dinnerware but could use some addition pots and pans baking sheets etc...
  Dining room table wobbled severely, should probably be repaired. Front entrance steps are crumbling and could use repair.

  Loved the Lake Forest and Tahoe City area--much quieter than South Lake Tahoe. Nice beach just down the street. Easy 30-minute drive to Emerald Bay where we spent most of our time hiking. The house was clean and comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed. Everything worked--we just had to reset the router to get Internet. The house is old so the floors and stairs do creak. There's a half-bath off of the first floor bedroom and a full bath only on the first floor. There were a couple of bikes in the laundry room but we didn't ask to use them. We arrived late but the management company left all the lights on for us. Thanks! We had a great stay and would stay here again.

  It’s hard to choose a place over the internet. We chose this place primarily for the yard because we have a small dog. We let him run & play out there and he loved it. We were always with him. This cabin was warm and inviting. We truly enjoyed our stay. No king beds and we weren’t used to that, but found the queen downstairs to be very comfortable. We did not use the upstairs at all. The bathrooms were a bit rustic, yet adequate. We didn’t use the fireplace, as the fire danger was high and the heater did a great job. The vents and filters do need to be cleaned out. The living room chair was very comfortable, but the matching sofa was not. There was a board under the cushions that was very uncomfortable. I’d say it’s time to replace! The kitchen was well supplied, but bring your own foil or baggies. We bought sponges for the place, as there was nothing to do dishes with. More toilet paper could have been supplied, as we bought more, and there were no Kleenex supplied. The lockbox did not work, but fortunately we found the keys under the mat. We hadn’t been told they were there. Overall, the place is really cute and we enjoyed our time there.

  My husband and our Akita dog enjoyed this property very much. The backyard was well manicured and big enough for playtime. The home was well appointed, clean and cozy.   This was a perfect house for our dogs. It's close to the beach and had the best backyard we've ever seen. The house itself could use some updating. The beds were kind of hard, pillows old, the furniture is all old, one sink still has the cold and hot water separated and in general things are just old. Our shower didn't work but they sent a handyman immediately to fix it and we were inconvenienced very little. The TV set up is great and the kitchen has everything you need to cook and eat in. The place was very clean, we didn't even find a spider which is a rite of passage in Tahoe! A lovely deck, we ate outside almost every time. Plenty of parking. Quiet neighborhood and nice neighbors.

  We had a great time at this home. We loved the lush, fenced back yard, a beautiful setting to come home to after a day spent hiking or at the beach. We also loved the open floor plan for the kitchen, dining and living area, it made preparing meals and socializing so enjoyable. The mattresses in the twin bedroom were super comfy. We also liked the location to the pet friendly beach at Glen Forest. It is in a quiet neighborhood with nice neighbors!

  Wonderful little vacation home in a great location. Short & safe walk down to Lake Forest Beach. Quiet cul-de-sac, great neighbors. The enclosed, grass yard is a real treat in Tahoe. Home was perfect for 2 adults & 2 kids. For us it would be a bit crowded if we had anymore than that. Kitchen dishes/items are a bit sparse & outdated. But it's a vacation rental so you can't really have expectations there. I'd say if you know you'll want it, bring your own. We would definitely stay here again.

  We stayed in this home for a month and LOVED it. The location is so great. Walking distance to trails, ride your bike out of the driveway to everything Tahoe City has to offer. We rode our bikes to Squaw, walked to 2 very close beaches and awesome mountain bike trails are across the street. The home is in the sweetest neighborhood, Lake Forest. The permanent residents are friendly and our kids enjoyed meeting the kids who live nearby. The house is cozy, the neighborhood is so quiet and the backyard is fenced with just enough space to be private and comfortable. There is a big stone fireplace, three bedrooms and a loft. Two tvs were helpful especially with kids for a month. Can't say enough good things. I highly recommend it.
